This is an ongoing game among fellow authors who are also writing new drafts.I have been tagged by author DK Burrow. For more on her current work in progress Playing By the Rules you can read more here.

What is the title of your book?
The title for the second Merminia book is undecided.

Where did the idea for the book come from?
This book is a continuation and conclusion to Merminia.

What genre does your book fall under?
YA Fantasy/Paranormal Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Selinne- Phoebe Tonkin, Crystal Reed, Nina Dobrev, or Lucy Hale
Aramis – Chris Pine or Taylor Kitsch
Gabriel- Tyler Hoechlin or Austin Nichols
Zara- Rosamund Pike or Emily VanCamp
Ulric – Chris Hemsworth would be fabulous.
Walter- Ryan Turner from Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 2

What is a short synopsis of your book?
When Selinne, Gabriel, and Aramis set out to stop Ulric from using Adessia’s ring, they find that the cursed token may be the least of their fears. As they fight for their survival as a species, love and friendships are tested to their breaking point.

Will your book be self-published or agented?

How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
I am about halfway through the draft.

What other books within your genre would you compare your WIP to?
Some of my favorite fantasy books have a heroine thrown out of her element and take her away from her usual surroundings. I love the tone and imagination in Graceling and The Golden Compass, although I must say I could never equal the amazing talent of Kristin Cashore or Philip Pullman. I think we get to see Selinne with a fighting spirit that is similar to Katsa from Graceling.

Who or what inspired this book?
My attachment to the characters in Merminia made me reconsider leaving Merminia at one book. I just wasn’t ready to abandon them yet. I wanted to give a real conclusion to the tale of Adessia’s ring. This book allows for a definite end to who it is that Selinne belongs with. We get to see Selinne in action as she comes into her own as a warrior. I also felt like Ulric and Zara were interesting enough to deserve a bigger story line in the second book.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Unicorns, dragons, witches, elves and fairies make appearances.

** Hints or Spoilers if you will:
Even though Selinne, Gabriel, and Aramis must stick together, the love triangle comes to a grinding halt quickly. A certain pair get pretty heated in the second book. There might be one or two major deaths.

Ahhh – Nina Dobrev and Chris Pine as your characters. That would be a lovely combination. So glad you decided to continue on with your story. Best of luck!
